The phrase “Andar Bahar app” covers two completely different things. Some apps are real-money live casino apps. Most are play-money clones with names designed to confuse you. Here’s how to tell which is which, the safe-download walkthrough for the app we trust (Funexchange), and the iOS situation in 2026.
If you search “Andar Bahar app” on the Play Store you’ll find 80+ results. Roughly 75 of those are play-money apps. You spend rupees on virtual coins and there’s no withdrawal. They are basically slot-machine-style entertainment with an Andar Bahar theme. Some are fine for learning the rules. None pay real money out.
The other 5 or so are real-money casino apps. These can’t be on Google Play in India because Play Store policy bans real-money gaming apps from the Indian regional store. They are distributed as APK files (direct Android installs) from the operator’s own website. iOS doesn’t allow this kind of app at all in India through the official App Store, so iPhone players use the mobile browser version or a TestFlight build.

We’ll walk through the Funexchange flow since it’s the app we deposit on every week. The steps below are the actual flow as of last month.
You don’t download the app from a third-party APK aggregator. You send “Hi” to the brand’s WhatsApp number, get an agent reply within 60 seconds, and the agent sends you a direct download link to the APK hosted on funexchange.co. This is the only safe source. Third-party APK sites routinely repackage these with malware.
Android blocks side-loaded apps by default. On Android 13 and 14, open the APK, the system prompts you to enable “Allow from this source” for your browser (Chrome, usually). Tap Settings, toggle on, return. This is a per-source permission. You’re not opening up your phone to anything else.
Tap Install. The 38 MB APK installs in about 15 seconds. The app icon appears on your home screen, a red and black “AB” badge for Funexchange.
The app opens to a login screen. Use the user ID and password the WhatsApp agent sent you during the original sign-up. The app stays logged in. No biometric setup needed, but you can enable Face Unlock or fingerprint on Android 12+.
Tap Deposit. The app shows a UPI QR code that auto-fills the operator’s UPI ID. Open PhonePe, GPay or Paytm, scan the code, enter the deposit amount (₹100 minimum), confirm with your UPI PIN. Funds appear in the app in 30 to 90 seconds.
Total time from “Hi” on WhatsApp to first Andar Bahar bet: under three minutes if you have a UPI app installed. We’ve timed this on a OnePlus Nord and a Redmi Note 12, both on Jio 5G in Mumbai.
Apple’s India App Store does not allow real-money gaming apps. There’s no native iOS app for any Indian casino, including Funexchange. iPhone users have three options.
Open funexchange.co in Safari. Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The site installs as a Safari web app with its own icon on your home screen. The live casino tables work normally in Safari. Evolution, Ezugi, and Pragmatic all stream WebRTC to mobile Safari without issues. This is what about 80% of iPhone Andar Bahar players use, and what we recommend.
Some operators distribute “beta” native iOS builds through TestFlight (Apple’s beta-test platform). The agent sends you a TestFlight invite link via WhatsApp. The app installs normally. The catch: TestFlight builds expire every 90 days and you have to re-install. Functionally identical to the web app option above, just with an extra reinstall reminder every quarter.
Technically possible but cumbersome. Requires a paid AltStore subscription, a Mac or Windows PC to “refresh” the install every 7 days, and an unsigned IPA file from the operator. Most regulars give up on this after 2 weeks and switch to the web app option. We don’t recommend it.
The clone scam is real and costs Indian players an estimated ₹40 crore per year (industry estimate from a Bengaluru fraud-investigation firm last year). The clone apps look almost identical to legitimate brands. Here’s how to spot one before you deposit a single rupee.
The legitimate Funexchange APK only comes from funexchange.co via the official WhatsApp number. If the download link is from a “mod APK” site, an APKPure-style aggregator, or a Telegram channel that isn’t the brand’s official one, it’s a clone or repackaged build with extra code added.
On Android, after install, go to Settings, then Apps, find the installed app, tap About. The package name should start with “com.funexchange.app”. Clones use names like “com.androidapk.fun” or “in.casinoapp.andarbahar”. If the package name doesn’t match the brand’s reverse-domain, uninstall immediately.
If the support WhatsApp inside the app is a different number than the one you used to register, it’s been intercepted. The agent on the wrong number will tell you to “deposit to a temporary account because the main one is down”. That’s the money-grab moment. Walk away.
The clearest test. Deposit ₹100 (small enough that losing it is the cost of the test). Win or lose, request a ₹100 withdraw. A legitimate app processes it in 20 to 40 minutes. A clone app either says “minimum withdrawal is ₹5,000” (a lock-in scam) or stops responding to WhatsApp messages. We have run this test on 12 of the dodgy apps that came up in our investigation last year. 11 failed.
If you want to learn Andar Bahar without depositing real money, three play-money apps are decent.
Andar Bahar, Classic (by IndiGames). Free on Play Store. Single-player, basic rules, no chat. Useful for the first 50 rounds of learning. About 4.1 stars from 200,000+ ratings.
Junglee Andar Bahar. Junglee is a legitimate Indian gaming company (also makes rummy and poker). Their Andar Bahar app is play-money only in most states because of state-level chance-game restrictions. Good UI, decent tutorial. Free on Play Store.
RummyCircle’s Andar Bahar mode. RummyCircle added Andar Bahar in 2024. Real-money where legal (Goa, Sikkim, Daman) and play-money elsewhere. We’ve not tested it extensively because the table count is small (6 to 8) but the underlying engine is solid.
None of these replace a real-money live casino app for the actual live-dealer experience. They are training-wheel options. Once you’ve understood the bet sequence, move to Funexchange for the actual Andar Bahar tables.
Five things that separate decent apps from rubbish ones, and how Funexchange measures on each.
Look for a “Provably Fair” or “GLI certified” badge in the app’s About or Game Info screens. Legitimate operators license their live tables from Evolution, Ezugi, or Pragmatic. Minimum bet at ₹50 is the floor we recommend. Maximum bet should be at least ₹50,000 per round for regular play, ₹5 lakh+ for VIP. Apps with maximum bets below ₹10,000 won’t survive a serious player.
